Van Ambulance Bus

The people of Njoben and the 11 surrounding villages, home to almost a thousand people, are accustomed to moving around with animal-drawn carts.

The main problem arises when these animals do not want to move forward due to darkness (if a medical emergency arises in the nighttime) or water (if flooded stretches are created on the way to the nearest town or hospital).

Thus, we have identified the need for a van for the following purposes:

• To facilitate access to health care for sick people from the village to the nearest hospital without relying on transport with animals. Nowadays, we see how women giving birth or their babies die trying to get to the hospital to be attended by a professional. Also elderly people with reduced mobility or any person who has a medical emergency has no opportunity to reach a medical center due to lack of transportation.
• So that teenagers, almost finishing their academic circuit, can access their last two years of schooling before graduating and obtaining the certificate of compulsory education (similar to the ESO in our country). Obtaining this diploma opens doors to continue their education or to have broader professional and personal horizons in the present and in the future.
• For adults to be able to come to the city and to be able to dedicate themselves to economic activities that allow them to get out of the economic decadence in which all the families of the area find themselves.
• To give work to a local person (driver).
  
  

We would like to add that part of the van project is going to be self-sufficient since the function of transporting adults so that they can dedicate themselves to economic activities in the city, will have a small cost. This money will finance the gasoline for the van and part of the driver's salary, if possible.
